Yin Yang Yoga
With Michael Aronoff and Rev. Mikayla Bram
Sunday, December 4th, 3:00-5:00pm
Cultivating and Channeling Energy for Sustainable Transformation
This 2 hour yin yang class will offer intelligent sequencing of flowing movement as well as bringing refined awareness to stillness, both physical and mental. Yin and yang are actually complementary, not opposing, forces, interacting to form a whole greater than either separate part; in effect, a dynamic system.
Yin Yoga focuses on the slow, patient, opening of the fascial layer of the body. The fascia is the connective tissue (shrink wrap) that underlies the skin, wraps the muscles, holds the bones together and is the conduit for the meridians through which energy flows. Yin yoga invites you to slow down and create space for stillness using long, passive holds to nourish the deep, dense connective tissues of the body- the tendons, joints, ligaments and cartilage – which can be difficult to energize and open.
Yang Yoga focuses on rhythm and repetition, linked to and supported by breath. Yang activity is mobile, builds to an apex before calming down and maintains a core strength that requires appropriate effort. With rounds of Sun Salutations, active dynamic and strengthening poses or sequences working on the Yang tissues – the muscles, blood and skin. Yang yoga keeps the body’s functionality and mobilizes the energy body to refresh the body’s vibrancy and is great for building strength and fitness.

New Year’s Eve Yoga
Saturday, December 31st, 10:00-11:30am
Let’s welcome this New Year together in our highest, brightest consciousness! This New Year’s Eve Yoga class let go of the past and bring in the love and light of a New Year. Have your special intention of the New Year ready for the morning practice December 31st 2017 10am to 1130am. New Year’s Eve Sadhana!
New year’s is the time we are meant to set resolutions and then joke about throwing them out by February. Let’s not do that this year. This year, let’s simply make an intention or a Sankalpa to be a little better than last year. This mindset will feed everything else and permeate your year. It certainly doesn’t mean throwing out goals, but it does mean using your practice to lift up everything else. This is your year to grow, thrive, and achieve. Practice your potential every day and you will see results. Start with a morning sadhana to make every day of your life a little better than last year. In yoga, a word we use to define a daily practice or ritual is SADHANA. “What is sadhana? It’s a committed prayer (of living life). Sadhana is self-enrichment. Sadhana is a personal process in which you bring out your best.” ~Yogi Bhajan~
